Y'all clearly didnt see the type of turtle. Before you judge
the man, its an alligator snapping turtle that could snap his fingers off with one chomp. So he is acting how he should be.

Give the turtle something to bite then hold him by his tale and place in the box. I have personally done it a half dozen times. We have them all over Kansas especually during a rainy time period they will come out in the craziest places.

I move turtles off the road all the time. This cops is already protected from the worst a turtle has. He has gloves on. They carry all kinds of germs. Grab it by the sides & just pick it up. I've picked up large snapping turtles, no problem. OMG, the slime that is on them is the worst.

If that is an alligator turtle they are mean have a bad bit and are fast when they want to turn around. I have had experience with one of these and wouldn't mess with one at all.

Turtles always know exactly where they're going so leave them alone and just let them go... if possible. DO try to keep them from being in the street because there are too many weirdos driving vehicles who consider it a sport to squash a turtle. Gotta watch out for those snappers, though, because they can reach clear around and git ya... AND they don't let go!
