Dog and raccoon swimming

Dale A. Wolfe When I was kid we had dogs that would chase raccoons.
A trick of raccoons would be to go in the river, then crawl on the dog and drown him it happened more than once to people I knew. Owner should be careful as the raccoon gets bigger. Even if they are friendly, the weight of the raccoon could cause it accidentally.

Janna Jero Ok first of all ,im guessing this raccoon has been with this dog its whole life , I'm also guessing the raccoon could not be returned to the wild for some reason so thats why he is with this family . Can people just except the fact that these two animals are friends and the raccoon isnt trying to kill off his friend . Good grief people,

Kristine Foster This is very dangerous thing; coons are know for wrapping their arms around a dogs nose and pulling their heads under water and drowning them! My father used to hunt raccoons with a big black and tan coonhound and saw this happen a few times. He was always there to make sure HIS dog wouldn't fall prey to that . Racoons are quite the little fighters and can give very nasty bites.

Jim Soulek This is a BS video. Although this looks friendly, the last thing you ever want your dog to encounter in the wild is a raccoon in the water as the raccoon will jump on the dog’s head to drown them. Apparently this raccoon has been domesticated but if you don’t want to lose your dog, keep them away from raccoons in water,
